Hera privacy policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Hera helps businesses and creators moderate comments on their Instagram professional accounts. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it.

Who we are

Hera is run by Choiceful Inc. Questions: shareherasupport@gmail.com

What we collect

If you use Hera (you connected an Instagram account):

  • Your sign-in email address.
  • Your Instagram account's ID and username.
  • An access token from Instagram, so Hera can read and hide comments for you. We store it encrypted.

If you commented on an account that uses Hera:

  • The comment's ID and text.
  • Your Instagram username.
  • When the comment was posted.
  • The label Hera gave it (for example, “spam”) and any action taken (for example, hidden).

We don't collect anything else: no photos, no messages, no follower lists, no profile details.

How we use it

Only to moderate comments: to decide whether a comment looks fine, should be hidden, or needs a human to look at it, and to show the account owner what happened.

We never sell data, use it for ads, or reply to anyone on anyone's behalf. We never delete comments, only hide them, and any hidden comment can be unhidden.

Who we share it with

  • OpenAI, which reads comment text to suggest a label. OpenAI doesn't use this data to train its models.
  • Supabase (our database) and Render (our servers) store and run Hera.

That's all.

How long we keep it

  • Comments and their labels are deleted after 90 days.
  • When an account owner disconnects an Instagram account, everything Hera stored for that account is deleted right away.
  • When a user deletes their Hera account, everything is deleted.

Your choices

  • Hera users: disconnect an account anytime from the Accounts page. You can also remove Hera in Instagram under Settings › Website permissions › Apps and websites.
  • Anyone: to have your data deleted, follow the steps on our data deletion page.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top.
